Why is the daily activity newsletter named 'IWA?

What is a 'IWA?

The 'IWA is the great frigate seabird known to Hawaii.  This bird is large and graceful seabird, related to the Boobies and tropicbirds.  The 'IWA's body is slim, with a long deeply forked tail, long hooked bill, and almost useless legs and feet.

Disney Character's in your Inside Stateroom on the Disney Fantasy?

The Disney Fantasy like the Disney Dream will offer Magical Portholes for guest sailing in an inside stateroom.

What animated characters may appear in Disney's Fantasy Magical Portholes?

Well, how about Rapunzel from "Tangled"?   She just might swing by on a rope with her flowing silky hair.

Perhaps Mr. Potato Head from "Toy Story" could give a wave "hello"..., or maybe Scuttle and Flounder from "The Little Mermaid" will peek in as they fly by.

The Matterhorn updates Bob Sled - No more Tandem seating

As Duffy and I waited to ride the blob sleds on the Matterhorn yesterday, it was announced that it was the last day for  "Tandem" seating on the Matterhorn.  Over the  Summer, we noticed some testing on a newer bob sled that had individual seating only.

The bob sled that we saw that day, had only 3 single seats in one sled with two sleds linked together.

At present, the ride is shut down for the update and re-open in Summer.  We saw crew painting the exterior and repairing the rocks during our visit.

How to retrieve a lost item left on one of the Disney ships

It's the "Disney Difference" once again.

I had left my sunglass "clips" on the Disney Wonder, it was not until I processed through Customs that I realized I did not have them.

Unable to return back on the ship to retrieve my clips, I was advised to complete a Lost & Found form at the Lost & Found desk in the departure/luggage terminal at the Port.  I completed the small 3 x 5 yellow card and hoped that my clips would be found and returned.

Since all lost and found items on the ships are packaged and shipped to Disney's processing center in Florida, I allowed a couple week to past before calling (407) 566-3734.  When calling this number, you'll want to have handy your stateroom number, date of sailing and return phone should you find yourself with a recorded message.

I was later contacted by Cindy at Lost & Found the next day.  Cindy was going to locate my lost and found request form from my sailing and advise with her findings.  I later received a call that Cindy had found a pair of sunglass "clips" and that they match the description.

Very excited, I agreed that the clip was indeed mine.  My clip was received nicely wrapped and in good condition.

What to expect for Dinner on your 1st Night on the Disney Wonder

Duffy and I are dressed casual for Dinner, as it is a casual night on the Disney Wonder.  Depending on your dining rotation, you'll be dining in either Animator's Palate, Parrott Cay or Trittons.  We made our way to Parrott Cay for our 1st Dinner.

Duffy and I opted to enjoy the Mushroom Rissoto for our appetizer.  This dish was creamy and tasty.

For our main entree, we requested the sliced beef dish with mash pototoes and vegetables.

Look at all the tasty items for Dessert!

Of course, we requested the Double chocolate cake with carmel cream sauce.

What to expect on the Disney Cruise Sail Away Party!!!

The Sail Away Party is one of Duffy's and my favorite activity once on board.

This is the time to kick up your heels, sing along with your favorite characters and get ready for your Magical adventure on the high seas!

What to expect during Embarkation at the Port of Los Angeles

It's always very exciting to be arriving at the Port.  Very important to have a plan and take your time through the process.  Below are some tips to keep in mind:

1.  Drop off you family and luggage before parking your vehicle
2.  One health questionnaire per stateroom is required to complete and bring to check in.
3.  If you are a Castaway member, there will be a designated check in line
4.  If you are sailing in a Suite, there will be a designated check in line

Once you have checked in, you'll proceed to the waiting area.  On your way, you'll be given a number per stateroom.

If traveling with children, this is a good time to proceed to the Youth Activities Registration desk to enroll your children in the programs on board the ship.

TIP:  Bring some small items for your children to keep them occupied while you wait for your number to be called to embark.

You'll find a generous amount of seating in the waiting areas.  Many of these areas provide Disney Channel entertainment as you wait.

Feel free to start making your way to the embarkation line once your number is next to be called.  There will be a CM holding the line until your number is called.

Once your number is called, the CM will allow you to proceed through the Terminal to the ship.  Have your Key To The World handy to officially swipe yourself on board the ship!

See you at the Sail Away Party!

Diane & Duffy sail the Disney Wonder

Hello Folks!

Duffy and I will be posting several "insider updates" for cruising the Disney Wonder.  Please feel free to utilize this information, but also keep in mind that details and events are subject to change.

Disneyland is preparing to go "All-Night-Long" on February 29th

Just announced, Disneyland will party 24 hours on Wednesday, February 29 as part of their One More Disney Day Campaign.  Back in 1987,  Disneyland hosted a 60 hour party for the opening of Star Tours.

TIP:  Register for daily, as give-a-way vacation packages through February 29th will be awarded.

This will be the 1st time Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom in Florida will be open 24 hours on the same day.

Hours:  6:00 a.m. (February 29th); through 6:00 a.m. (March 1st).

Good news for all AP holders, as this is a non-block day!
